Philip Seymour Hoffman found dead.
46 years old actor Philip Hoffman who was one of the leading actor of his generation and winner of an Academy Award for his title role in the film “Capote,” found dead in his apartment in Manhattan, New York. His friend informed police about this case and police discovered him unresponsive in his bathroom floor on Sunday. Police found him with a syringe in his hand and two small plastic bags of heroin in his apartment. Police said it is appeared to be drug-related death.
He started his acting career in 1991 with the movie Law & Order. Hoffman was shooting for the third part of series of The Hunger Games movie, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 & completed shooting of almost all of his scenes.
In 2006, while talking with one of the talk show of American television news magazine program, 60 Minutes, Hoffman revealed that he had suffered from drug and alcohol abuse after graduating from college. After that he went to rehab for drug and alcohol addiction, recovering at age 22.
He is survived by longtime girlfriend Mimi O’Donnell and their three children. Mimi O’Donnell and Hoffmon was in relationship for the last fifteen years of his life. They had two daughters and one son.
Hoffman’s family said, “We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Phil and appreciate the outpouring of love and support we have received from everyone.”
