Jumanji Actor Robin Williams found dead
63 year old Hollywood star Robin Williams has been found dead at his home in Northern California from an apparent suicide. He was very much popular actor among the children because of his role in Jumanji & Night at the Museum.
On August 11, 2014, Williams was found unresponsive at his residence in Marin County, California and was pronounced dead at the scene. According to Marin County’s coroner’s office, the probable cause of death was asphyxiation. According to his publicist, Williams had suffered depression before his death, though he would not confirm the reports that the death was suicide.
A month earlier, Williams had admitted himself into Hazeldon Addiction Treatment Center in Lindstrom, Minnesota for continued sobriety related to his alcoholism.
Williams’ wife Susan Schneider said “I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken.”
Psychologist Julie Cerel, chairperson of the board of the American Association of Suicidology, said Williams was known to have bipolar disorder, depression and problems with drug abuse.
Nominated for the Best Actor Oscar three times, Williams won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for the 1997 film Good Will Hunting, in which he played the therapist to Matt Damon’s working class maths genius.
RIP Robin Williams
