Ameesha Patel is not so successful actress in the Bollywood industry but she has an excellent academic profile. She studied at the Cathedral and John Connon School in Bombay and was head girl for the academic year 1992–1993 before heading overseas to study Economics at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts and earned a gold medal in her subject. She began her career as an economic analyst at Khandwala Securities Limited after graduation before doing advertisement campaigns.
Madhuri Dixit attended Divine Child High School and Mumbai University and studied microbiology at Parle College. She is a trained Kathak dancer.
Abhishek Bachchan was dyslexic as a child which was referred by Aamir Khan in film Taare Zameen Par. Abhishek Bachchan did his schooling at Modern School in New Delhi and then went on to study at Jamnabai Narsee School and Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai. After school he attended Aiglon College in Switzerland. He then attended Boston University, but dropped out.
Soha Ali Khan attended The British School in New Delhi and Balliol College, Oxford. After her graduation she has also earned a Masters degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Soha worked for the Ford Foundation and Citibank. She is involved in a range of activities outside the acting world, including serving on the Advisory Board for a new project of the public entrepreneur group, Res Publica.
R Madhavan graduated in Electronics from Rajaram College, Kolhapur. From his college he was chosen to represent India as its cultural ambassador in Canada. He was awarded as the Maharashtra Best Cadet, which allowed him to make a trip with three others as NCC Cadets to England. Because of this honour, he received training with the Royal Army, the Navy and the Air Force. He always had plans to join defense but was eventually got rejected as he missed the age cut-off by six months. Later he took courses in public speaking which eventually helped him to enter into the film industry. He won the Indian Championship for Public Speaking and was thereby selected to represent India at the Young Businessmen Conference in Tokyo, Japan in 1992.
Aamir Khan did his Standard 12 from Narsee Monjee College in Mumbai, but barely attended classes because he was always busy with dramatics. He did not study beyond that. He was among TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World List.
Preity Zinta did her graduation in English with Honors after which she pursued further with Graduation in Psychology and even earned a Post Graduate Degree in Criminal Psychology. In addition to movie acting, Preity has written a series of columns for BBC News Online South Asia.
John Abraham is not just a handsome hunk. Abraham studied at Bombay Scottish School, Mahim in Mumbai. He got his bachelor’s degree in economics from Jai Hind College & also received MMS from Mumbai Educational Trust (MET).
