Dhoni new hairstyle
Current captain of the Indian national cricket team MS Dhoni has sported a number of hairdos over the years. Leading Chennai Super Kings in the Champions League T20 against South African side Titans – Dhoni sported a new mohawk hairstyle.
The mohawk is a hairstyle in which, in the most common variety, both sides of the head are shaven, leaving a strip of noticeably longer hair in the center.
India’s hottest sports icon has shaved off his hair from both sides and he now looks like a Rock Star.
He always experimented different styles on his hairs and coming back after a break, has experimented with hair styles going from long haired to short to crew cut and almost bald during the 2011 World Cup which India went on to win.
Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf, during India’s tour of Pakistan in 2006, had admired Dhoni’s hairstyle and asked him not to cut the hair. At that time thousands of Dhoni fans in India began sporting his long hair look.
He made his One Day International (ODI) debut in December 2004 against Bangladesh, and played his first Test a year later against Sri Lanka. Dhoni has also been the recipient of many awards including the ICC ODI Player of the Year award in 2008 and 2009 (the first Indian player to achieve this feat), the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award in 2007 and the Padma Shri, India’s fourth highest civilian honour, in 2009. India were crowned champions as Dhoni led the team to victory against Pakistan in a thrilling contest. It was under his captaincy that India climbed to No. 1 in the ICC Test Rankings in December 2009.
In March 2013, Dhoni became the most successful Indian Test captain when he eclipsed Sourav Ganguly’s record of 21 victories from 49 Tests. Ganguly also said in an interview to a news channel that Dhoni is the all-time greatest captain of India and he has a great record to support this credential.
